Much as vehicle insurance is a useful thing to have when driving a car, travel insurance can be helpful to have when travelling. We personally wouldn’t travel anywhere without it! Some countries, such as Cuba, actually requires that travelers have travel insurances for the duration of their trip. Having a valid travel insurance policy is often mandatory to go on a working holiday too*. But this shouldn’t be the main reason you buy travel insurance.
