Refund amounts less than the minimum premium ($30) will not be issued. 

International Student:

Full Refunds

A full refund will be provided for policies which are returned within 10 days of purchase and your coverage has not started yet.

• The student fails to meet visa eligibility requirements.
• You return to your country of origin prior to the expiry date, without intending to return to Canada, 30 days or more before the expiry date.
• You become insured under a Canadian provincial or territorial health/medical plan.

Partial Refunds

Partial cancellations will be calculated by multiplying the daily premium by the actual number of days the policy was in effect; if this amount is less than the minimum premium required, the minimum premium will be used. This amount is then subtracted from the total premium paid.

Visitors to Canada:

Full Refunds

The entire trip is cancelled prior to the effective date.

Partial Refunds

• You return to your country of origin prior to the expiry date, without intending to return to Canada. Refunds are not payable for time spent in your country of origin between visits to Canada.
• You become insured under a Canadian provincial or territorial health/medical plan.

Refunds will not be issued if the amount is $10 or less per Policy.
Administration fee may apply.

International Student (or Companion):

Full Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted to TuGo within 45 days from the effective date.

• The entire Policy is cancelled prior to the effective date; or
• The entire Policy is cancelled after the effective date but no travel has taken place and the request is received within 10 days of the application date; or,
• You have not arrived to Canada or your country of study;
• You arrived in Canada or country of study, but entry into Canada or country of study is denied.

Partial Refunds

Requests for partial refunds must be received no later than 30 days after the expiry date of the Policy.

• You have returned permanently to your home country; or,
• You become eligible and covered under a provincial or territorial government health care plan (inbound students only).

Visitors to Canada

Full Refunds

•  When no travel has taken place and the request for refund is received PRIOR to the effective date of the Policy, a full refund is available.
• A full refund is available within 10 days of the application date;
• A refund less an administration fee is available when the request for refund is received more than 10 days after the application date but no later than one year from the expiry date of the Policy.
• Refunds must be requested in writing.

You become eligible and/or covered under a provincial or territorial government health care plan during the period of coverage.
